She was born May 7, 1940 in Beavertown, Pa., the daughter of Marlin and Virginia (Spacht) Shawver.Eva was an extraordinary mother and grandmother. She never forgot a birthday or anniversary and always made holidays extra special. She gave her undivided attention and unconditional love to everyone. Her favorite hobby was quilting and she made quilts for every grandchild to cherish. She could sew, draw, and bake anything Eva also loved to read, garden, play games, the New York Yankees, ladybugs and was famous for her organizational skills and making lists. She will be missed beyond words but the wisdom and love she gave will be with us always.Eva was predeceased by her parents; her husbands, Richard Klafehn and James Czerkies, Sr.; her brothers, Donald Shawver, Randall Shawver, and Glen Shawver; her son, James Czerkies, Jr.; her step-grandson, Alex John Klafehn; her sisters-in-law, Marie Shawver and Carolyn Shawver.Eva is survived by her sons, Ronald (Kathy) Reed, Scott (Mary) Reed; daughter, Deborah (Paul) Thurston; step-daughters, Laura Beehler (Matt Toole) and Barbara Czerkies (Jack Szyikowski); stepson, David (Diane) Klafehn; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers, Franklin (Shirley) Shawver, and Gerald Shawver; several cousins, nieces and nephews.Family and friends are invited to call at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 West Ave. Albion, NY 14411 on Friday, Aug. 30 from 4-7 p.m. Eva’s funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Carlton United Methodist Church, 1196 Archbald Road, Waterport, NY 14571. Interment will follow in Mt.
